Pioneer Woman's Homemade Ranch Dressing

INGREDIENTS

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1⁄2 cup sour cream
  • 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup milk (depending on how thick you want the dressing) or 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup buttermilk (depending on how thick you want the dressing)
  • 1⁄4 cup chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 dash hot sauce

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sprinkle salt over garlic and mash together to make a paste, the finer the better.
  2. Combine the paste with all ingredients except lettuce. Taste and adjust the seasoning, if needed.
  3. Chill for several hours before serving. When ready to serve, thin with more buttermilk if needed.

Homemade House Dressing

Great salad dressing is "on the house" with this recipe. You're sure to impress your family and company with our easy yet flavor-packed Homemade House Dressing.

What You'll Need:

  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 scallion (green onion), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
What To Do:
  1. Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender.
  2. Process or blend until smooth.
  3. Transfer to a small bowl, cover, and chill until ready to use.

Makes about 1-1/2 cups.

Options

The sun-dried tomatoes make this seem fancy. If you want to make it more robust, try adding some garlic. And if you want it a bit lighter, use low-fat cheeses. Don’t have any buttermilk? Use sour cream or yogurt instead. Make it truly your own “house special” dressing!


Aunt Trish’s Salad Dressing

Servings: 12 Servings

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups Olive Oil Or Canola Oil
  • Juice Of 2 Lemons
  • 4 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt, More To Taste
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sugar
  • Dash Of Paprika
  • 1 clove Garlic, Peeled And Left Whole

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into a jar.
  2. Shake it up and store in the fridge at least 24 hours before serving.
  3. Serve on your favorite green salads. Also works well on pasta salad.

Farmer's Dressing

Mr. Food loves this light, creamy Farmer's Dressing over tossed salad or simply drizzled over fresh cucumbers or tomatoes. You will, too!

What You'll Need:

  • 1 medium-sized cucumber, cut into small chunks (we will use dried cucumber)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

What To Do:

  1. In a food processor or blender, blend all ingredients on medium-high speed until smooth.
  2. Serve immediately, or cover and chill until ready to serve.

Makes about 2 cups dressing.

Notes

No cucumbers? No problem! Just substitute a medium-sized zucchini...the results are just as good.
